Velvet Hours

Eight songs. One emotional night.

Velvet Hours moves through separation, recognition, desire, mature intimacy, grief, memory and acceptance before Nina finally allows morning to arrive.

THE STORY

From “Let tomorrow wait” to “I’m not afraid of morning.”

The album lives in the hours between midnight and morning—the time when noise disappears and people finally admit what they feel. Its emotional world is intimate rather than theatrical: warm Rhodes, melodic fretless bass, brushed drums and tenor saxophone surrounding Nina’s close, restrained vocal.

The night begins with emotional separation and old recognition, deepens into desire and grief, then passes through memory and acceptance. By the final song, Nina is no longer asking the night to protect her from tomorrow.
